I approach my work through a disciplined act of making. Working daily on sketching with pencil, watercolor, or gouache. Finding marks, colors, and shapes that resonate on the page. Almost a meditative act of creating, turning the page, creating, turning the page. Changing the shape and composition of the page through color and form. Using color to find the volume of a form.
My new work strips away what I know to be true. Literal forms, objects, and figures no longer part of the dialogue. I asked myself-what was most important to me. It was first and foremost the act of doing. Brush to paper, pencil marks. Then the building up of color to create a visual conversation and translate this through various mediums from pencil, cloth, thread, found papers, to paint.
As I move into the next stage of my process, I find that it is the process that interests me. Preparing the paper, creating the grid, and putting down the first layer of color seems to be directing the conversation in ways that I did not anticipate. I am enamored with this dialogue with paper and pencil. It is what brings me to the studio each day. An almost obsessive need to create and make the ground, or matrix for which the drawing originates and takes form.

My work explores the energetic interplay between color, shape, and line, reflecting the constant evolution of form. I am drawn to the transition from hard-edge geometry to more organic shapes, where rigid boundaries soften and intertwine, revealing the fluid nature of time and transformation. I love the way it mirrors the way my own history repeats and the cycle of work, and life through order and chaos. While trying to find the structure of the work.
I aim to create paintings that invite viewers to explore the tension between control and freedom, precision and randomness. Each piece serves as a visual conversation, where the elements evolve, and coexist—much like the stories of the past that shape our present and future.
